pilot talk, friday 26th may

miss out this part in yesterday's entry. haha.. brief introduction about this entry is about the talk that i attended yesterday at the AVT right after school at 12.45pm. wah, the whole avt so empty.. the attendance was very poor. make a guess how many turned up? eight, 5 males & 3 females.. hm, but of coourse it still proceeded on lah.

this person giving the talk is on Commercial planes and he's from the SIA, with 29 years of pilot experience. in this talk, although some of the facts i've already know it, others were new learning points for me. will mention some of them later if i can remember.

actually he has a DVD to play for us, but the school's system is unable to read the disc so.. so sad. im sure there are some interesting stuff in the dvd.

in the beginning, he talked about the planes he flew before, which includes the cessna for training pilots. followed on by learjets, which are business jets, also for better training pilots with more experience. next are the big passenger planes, cant remember the numbers exactly.. there are b747 classic, b747-400, airbus 310.. lol. at the end before we left, two other guys n me were talking to him personally then he mentioned that sia have about 2k planes around the world? if i never hear wrongly

then he showed us some images of the planes they use in SIA.. ok, i forgot those numbers. lol.. but there are slim ones, double-decked fuselarge(body).. and of course the gonna-be-released airbus a380 (:

other than that, i also learnt that on average only 15% of people get selected to graduate into first-class pilots of SIA. lol. and only SilkAir employs female pilots.

ah, i already forgotten what else was mentioned.. maybe another time when i recall then i add-on. thanks for ur kind attention n have a nice dae ahead. lol
