it was a fun-filled and thrilling day yesterday as WE went to the open house of TEMASEK JC and MERIDIAN JC. WE = vincent, lisa, audrey, cuishan(in the later part) and me! after school, we left immediately in 4 and went to TJC. thereafter, we ate at the hawker centre opposite the school. vincent and i ate dessert, cos i didnt feel like eating and he didnt want to eat. it was filling though, at a cost of ONE dollars! lol. however, the money was spent on buying tao kae noi spicy flavoured seaweed, and chips from 7-11 and a nearby stall. of the chips, it includes SWEE'S brand potatochips which is tasty. hahaha, and it can be purchased from bras basah complex's popular bookstore.
so next, at 2 plus we entered TJC.. and then i met firdaus, who went to the integrated programme. he was also my maths pyramid buddy last time, although we didnt fare well in the finals, lol! subsequently, we headed to the booth and up comes someone holding an enclosed box which contains small pingpong balls which are coloured black or orange in it. black means u won their lucky dip. 3 of the others tried and picked orange balls. i placed my hand within the box and felt 3 pingpong balls arranged in a triangle. there n then, i made a decision and pick the bottom left ball, and tata, it's BLACK! so lucky of me then! heh, i won their last luckydip prize.. which is a HOTCOOLER.. contradicting huh. in actual fact, it can function as a heater and cooler for 6x335mlcans placed 3 by 2 in its interior.. specifically, it can heat objects up to 55degree Celsius and cool objects down to 7degree Celsius. i switched the cooler on in the night and placed my handphone within it. when i remove my phone from within, cool water vapour condenses and form water droplets all over my phone.. but really cooler inside la. lol.. i placed a can of Pepsi in it too, and i fell asleep.. when i woke up at 3 minutes to 12am, my dad took it out and placed the pepsi can to my face.. one word to describe it -- chilled! haha.
an additional information about the cooler is as follows. on cooling, power consumption is 38-40W.. recap your physics right here.
A1.
(a)(i) What is meant by Power?
(a)(ii) Assuming Power consumption is 40W, how much energy is consumed in 3 hours, in kWh?
Ans:
(i)Power is the rate of energy change
(ii) E=Pt=(40/1000)*3=0.12kWh
in TJC, we headed towards the Sports region and there was the rock wall where abseiling and rockclimbing is done.. while walking up the stairs, i heard qing fei de yi from the Atrium and sang along, tata. anyway, i was the first visitor to do abseiling yesterday! one of the members at the top asked if i was honoured, hmm, i think absolutely! that was my second time doing abseiling, first time being that in Pahang last year. the first step to hold my body at an angle of about 70degrees from vertical standing position was the most fearful. thereafter, it was fun as i kicked off from the wall and descended :))
next, was rockclimbing! hoho, it was fun but tiring.. need to climb in awkward positions cos useful rocks were not everywhere.. i remember that i had to lift my soles to about 10cm below waist level to step and push myself upwards. haha. a pity audrey, who was behind with her cameraphone didnt shoot me in a stylo position. eek.
here's one shot frm audrey's phone.

after the rock climbing, we moved on to Outdoor Activities Club's Adventure Tower.. they promised to cook chicken for us after we completed the challenge but i think they forgotten! haha, nvm... it was super the thrilling climbing up the tower though..
from a distance away,
to the top, there's just one way:
vertically up to the top,
step by step up the logs
it was just 8 to 9 horizontal logs which are held horizontally by the two ends, and they're placed about 1.2 metre apart from each other?
ok, thats random. hahaha. we took about 15 minutes ba. slow huh? but it was real cooling at the top!! i wished that i need not come down. haa.
heres two pictures taken by audrey from the bottom after our feat to the top!

im gonna stop here cos i already typed for 45minutes and i gotta go study.. haha.. the rest will be summarised in a short paragraph or two..
after TJC, the four of us, and cuishan went to MJC! i met 3 primary schoolmates, of which two who were my ex-pri sch classmates and one who was quite arrogant in the past, not sure now cos i dont really know her well. and we played squash there. haha. our first times i believe, it was fun and funny.. haha. i got to practice quite alot although i stood at the left front quarter, yet the ball always come to me, and more often than not, i have no angle to wack it.. until much later i realised that i could move right and use backhand to hit it, which includes a risk of wacking the racket against the wall infront of MJC squash members who were watching us, so i rather siam the ball when it came. haa.
today i went VJC, and met fredrick and charlene. then, we toured around the school lor.. i met someone whom i know yet i never met before, a friend's friend, qinyu. haha. during the walk i also met another ex-pri sch classmate, who i recalled several times cos he looked similar to one temasekian in sec 2 now.. so fated and pleased to meet him again! haha, his name is lester loh, though i think you dont know him. then when we left, i met the two ex-classmates who i met the day before again. it has been 54 minutes already. ahhh. gotta go, see ya ;)
